Interior Design 2012 – 6 Powerful Trends

New season has new tendencies. They are not only in fashion but also in interior design. The 2012 interior design tendencies show more respect to family values, ethnic roots, vintage items and colors reminding us of the past. White, beige and brown tinges are perfectly blended with brave tinges of pink, turquoise and orange.

During the world economic crisis times the interior design tendencies followed the idea of austerity by using straight simple lines and colors. Nowadays one can observe the tendency to optimism that designers pass through bright colors and vintage items. In 2012 there are six main trends or tendencies in the modern interior design.

  •  Massive usage of design objects.

China gave to the whole world the opportunity of inexpensive industrial realization of ideas. Therefore, there is a huge quantity of interior design objects available on market created by young designers. They used the low-cost materials, such as plastic which properties allow the creation of complex original shapes.

On the one hand it is a perfect opportunity to furnish a living space quick and inexpensive. However, you can quickly “grow up” from this type of interior and you will have additional redesigning costs.

  •  Wabi-sabi design.

This type of design implies simplicity in everything. Wabi-sabi styled objects are completely opposite to western design ideas which are monumental, impressive and rich. The true concept of wabi-sabi can be derived from an awareness of three basic ideas: nothing is eternal, nothing is finished and nothing is perfect.

Wabi-sabi states that space is a luxury and there is no need to keep a lot of meaningless things in the house. Nevertheless we must turn our attention to practical things with minimal processing, whose beauty is revealed gradually in course of their usage. Modern designers like imperfection which is the reason of why they put non similar objects side by side. We all are people, we all are imperfect so why we should live in perfect decorations?

  •  The expansion of functionality.

The borders stipulated by a functionality of special premises are decreasing more and more fast. In the bathrooms taking a shower is stopped, they have expanded their area and have become the SPA areas. Dining rooms are combined with living rooms where the Christmas celebrations are taking place. The kitchen is now an opened theater where people show their culinary skills.

Today all zones of a house have a one common function – total comfort. And since technological progress allows reducing the various operational aspects, like drops of water, steam or smells to their minimum, why should we divide the house into smaller parts?

  • Eco-design.

The nature is an eternal source of inspiration. Natural motives expressed in the natural beauty of things and natural textures, fill every detail with a special meaning and bring a special quality to the interior.

  • The new meaning of luxury.

Today, luxury interior is a fusion of natural materials and high technology and the quality of each accessory in detail.

  • Multilayered textures, complex structural forms.

False textural elements give space and sensuality to the objects. Due to high-tech solutions these type of interiors connect retro with modern and strict chic with stylish negligence.
